Pair of gas pendants with white opal glass shades
We’re happy to introduce this difficult-to-find pair of gas pendants with white opal glass shades, c. 1880s. One of the shades is signed VESUVIUS. The other is unsigned. The burners on each pendant are signed WELSBACH. They were originally gas fixtures but were carefully converted to electric for use in today’s world. Both have their original gas valve, though they are no longer operational because wires now pass through them inside. Both pendants are made of brass with rich patina and a simple design. A wall switch is required to operate each of these. They would be perfect over an island, in a dining room, breakfast nook, library, flanking a fireplace, etc. Each measures 25 1/2″ long by 9 1/2″ wide with the shade. Newly wired with ground wire added.
