Rusty old apple picker
We converted this rusty old apple picker, c. late 1800s, into a lighting pendant using vintage parts. The original apple picker part is made of rusty steel that definitely shows its age! The fixture is made of brass with a rich patina. We decided to use an old-style Edison bulb so you can see the filament, but any Edison-based bulb up to 60 watts (or its equivalent) would be fine. By repurposing this vintage farm implement, we retained its character and its history!
A wall switch is required to operate this fixture. It could be perfect in an old barn, a rustic home, or anywhere rust is appreciated! It measures 23″ long by 6 1/4″ wide by 7″ deep. It’s newly wired with a ground wire added to meet today’s electric codes.
