Brass gas/electric sconce
This brass gas/electric sconce has some copper bleeding through which adds character to the fixture’s rich patina, c. 1900. The curl in the brass arm is a wonderful focal point. We chose not to convert the original gas valve to electric, so it is not operable, but it continues to preserve the history of the piece. We rewired the electric arm. It has a turn switch, so you can operate the sconce by the switch, or place the switch in the ON position and use a wall switch to turn it on and off. A vintage soft white glass shade completes the sconce.
If you’re looking for another sconce to complement this one in a shared space, take a look at item #W8-21987 on our website. It’s a gas/electric sconce with a similar curled brass arm.
Perfect for the bathroom, over the kitchen sink, in a hallway, stairwell, entryway, bedroom, etc. Measures 13″ high by 4 1/2″ wide by 14 1/2″ deep. Rewired with ground wire added to bring it up to today’s electric codes.
