Mission gas/electric sconce
This beautiful mission gas/electric sconce is brass with a rich patina. It’s marked Patented Feb 23 04 on the fitter ring collar. We chose not to convert the gas burner facing upward in order to retain the historic integrity of the piece. The gas valve is decorative but non-funtional. The original turn switch on the electric arm is signed Hubbell and is in perfect working order. You can operate this fixture using the turn switch, or you can place the switch in the ON position and use a wall switch. We completed this sconce with a vintage mission-style glass shade that’s camphor to clear. The sconce was probably made by the Miller Company but it’s unsigned.
This would be perfect in an entrance way, a hallway, a stairwell, in the bathroom, bedroom, library, over the kitchen sink, etc. It measures 14″ high with the shade by 4″ wide by 9″ deep. Rewired with ground wire added to bring it up to today’s electric codes.
