Mission style brass pendant, originally gas
This beautiful mission style brass pendant, originally gas, has four beveled glass panels. The brass has rich patina, and it’s in excellent condition. The burner is signed Welsbach and is marked PATENTED OCT 6 1896. The cylindrical glass chimney with air holes along the bottom is signed IMPERIAL AUSTRIA. You can use a flicker bulb to emulate a gas flame for effect. Or, if you need more light, use a standard candelabra bulb up to 60 watts or its equivalent. A wall switch is required to operate this fixture.
This piece would be perfect in an entryway, a staircase, in a hallway, pantry, etc. It measures 27″ long by 8″ wide across the tubular frame. The glass lantern is 6 1/2″ square. We recommend that the ceiling be at least 8 1/2 to 9 feet high to accommodate this fixture, since it cannot be shortened.
We carefully converted this gas fixture to electric and added a ground wire to bring it up to code.
