Brass pendant with white ribbed opal glass shade
This beautiful brass pendant with white ribbed opal glass shade hails from c. 1930s. This style of pendant was popular during the Art Deco period. It can be operated by the switch on the fixture, or you can place the switch in the ON position and use a wall switch to turn it on and off.
The shade is a little bit bigger than many others of similar design. This one measures 9″ in diameter, compared to a typical 7″ shade. For that reason, it can be used in a slightly larger space. It could be perfect over a kitchen island, over the kitchen sink, in a stairwell, in a breakfast nook, bathroom, hallway, etc. The entire pendant measures 23″ long, including 9″ of chain, so it can be shortened easily to fit a specific space. It’s rewired with a ground wire added to meet today’s electric codes.
